Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Rasikh Salam gave his team the first wicket against Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL 2026 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Friday, May 22. The fast bowler bowled a perfect yorker that crashed into Travis Head’s off stump, dismissing him for 26 runs off 16 balls. SRH lost their first wicket at 45 runs.

The wicket came in the fourth over of the innings. Rasikh bowled a sharp yorker and the left-handed batter tried to drive the ball towards the off side, but he was late on the shot and the ball hit the stumps. It was also a strong comeback from Rasikh after Travis Head had already hit him for three boundaries earlier in the same over.

Rasikh Salam has been one of the standout bowlers for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026. Before this match, he had already taken 12 wickets in nine innings. The defending champions showed great faith in him by retaining him for ₹6 crore.

Meanwhile, Travis Head once again could not play a big innings against RCB. Earlier this season, he had scored 6 against Chennai Super Kings, 0 against Gujarat Titans, and 38 against Punjab Kings. Overall, he has scored 393 runs in 14 matches in IPL 2026, including two half-centuries.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave Sunrisers Hyderabad a strong start after captain Pat Cumminswon the toss and decided to bat first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 clash.

At the time of writing, SRH were 63/1 at the end of the powerplay, with Abhishek Sharma batting on 26 runs off 14 balls and Ishan Kishan unbeaten on 8 off 6. RCB are currently at the top of the IPL 2026 points table with 18 points from 13 matches. They will aim to win this game and finish the league stage with 20 points to strengthen their hold on the top spot.

Meanwhile, SRH have 16 points from 13 games and will look to bounce back after their six-wicket defeat to RCB earlier this season. A big victory by at least 89 runs could take the Hyderabad side to second place in the standings.
