[WATCH]- RCB Captain Rajat Patidar Hits Nets Despite Injury Concerns Ahead Of KKR Clash

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar was spotted in the nets, preparing for the upcoming clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), despite recent injury concerns. The 2025 IPL resumes on Saturday, May 17, with RCB facing KKR at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Patidar had earlier been dealing with a finger injury that was expected to keep him out of RCB’s fixture against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 9, with Jitesh Sharma reportedly set to lead the team in his absence. However, the break in the tournament appears to have benefited Patidar, allowing him time to recover and return to practice.

His presence in the nets signals a boost for RCB, who are just one win away from securing a playoff berth. Before the match against KKR, Patidar was spotted batting in the open nets in Bengaluru, showcasing crisp and confident shot-making during the session. You can watch the video here:

Can Rajat Patidar Regain Form After Break as RCB Push for Top-Two Finish?

Captain Rajat Patidar plays a key role in RCB’s batting line-up, usually coming in at No. 4. He had a good start to the season with two half-centuries but has struggled with consistency as the tournament has gone on. However, the recent suspension appears to have given him a much-needed break to reflect, reset, and return with renewed focus.

So far this season, Patidar has scored 239 runs in 11 matches, averaging 23.90 with a strike rate of 140.58. He has registered two fifties during this period. As RCB stands on the verge of playoff qualification with eight wins from 11 games, this stage of the tournament becomes especially important.

With only three league matches remaining, the team will also be pushing hard to secure a top-two finish. For that to happen, Patidar’s return to form and leadership with the bat will be essential.
