Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) debutant Suyash Prabhudessai produced a superlative effort on the field against Chennai Super Kings at the DY Patil Sports Academy. His brilliant effort on the field produced a major breakthrough for Bangalore.

Asked to bat first, Chennai’s struggle at the top of the order continued. Ruturaj Gaikwad was trapped LBW by another debutant, Josh Hazlewood, to reduce the defending champions to 19/1. The onus was on Moeen and Robin Uthappa to lead the batting unit but a moment of brilliant ended the English all-rounder’s stay in the middle.

The incident took place in the seventh over of the CSK innings.  Moeen Ali rocked back and cuts one off Glenn Maxwell to the backward point region. Suyash Prabhusessai stationed there stops it with a full-length dive to his right.

The CSK all-rounder was off for a single, but the fielder fires in a rocket throw at the keeper’s end. Dinesh Karthik completes the formalities and Chennai Super Kings are in trouble once again. A sensational bit of fielding by Suyash Prabhudessai and Moeen had no chance to get back in.

The dismissal brought CSK’s best batter so far in IPL 2022 into the crease. He has played some good knocks so far and has started well once again. The southpaw will hope to continue the good work and propel CSK to a challenging total.

“I know them, but they also know me very well” – RCB captain Faf du Plessis on playing against CSK

Having spent four years with Chennai Super Kings, the former Proteas captain changed the base to Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was later appointed as their captain as the post was vacant after Virat Kohli relinquished his duties post-IPL 2021.

Faf du Plessis’ is up against his former team Chennai Super Kings.  When asked if it will be an added advantage, the RCB captain said, “I know them, but they also know me very well. It’s like playing against my brothers today.”
