Australia and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Tim David smashed a colossal 109-meter six during the first T20I against South Africa at Marrara Oval in Darwin on Sunday, August 10. Cricket.com.au shared a video showing the ball seemingly landing on the stadium’s roof.

The huge six came in the 12th over, bowled by left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy, who had impressive figures of 2-0-2-1 at that point. David connected perfectly with a full delivery outside off-stump, sending it soaring onto the roof, prompting the umpires to replace the ball.

The explosive right-handed batter rescued the home team from a disastrous batting collapse by scoring a powerful 83 off 52 balls, helping them reach 178 in their 20 overs. His innings included four boundaries and eight sixes, as he formed vital partnerships with Cameron Green (35) and Ben Dwarshuis (17).

For South Africa, left-arm fast bowler Kwena Maphaka was the standout performer, finishing with impressive figures of 4 overs, 20 runs, and 4 wickets. Kagiso Rabada took two wickets, while Senuran Muthusamy, George Linde, and Lungi Ngidi each claimed one. Earlier, South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and elected to field first, putting Australia into bat.

Tim David’s Vital Role In RCB’s IPL 2025 Championship Win

Tim David played a vital role for RCB in their long-awaited IPL 2025 title victory. The 29-year-old scored 187 runs across 12 matches, boasting an impressive strike rate of 185.14, significantly contributing to RCB’s journey to the playoffs.

Although he missed both Qualifier 1 and the final against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), his absence didn’t prevent the team from clinching the championship. David had earlier achieved his first T20I century in the previous series against the West Indies, blasting an unbeaten 102 off just 37 balls.
