On the professional front, Rinku has accumulated 63 runs in four appearances this season, boasting a strike rate of 150. However, the left-handed batsman struggled to make an impact in their recent match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), managing only nine runs from 14 balls.

Venkatesh has amassed 65 runs in four matches, including a fifty against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). On the bowling side, Varun Chakaravarthy has claimed four wickets in as many games, maintaining an economy rate of 7.37. On the other hand, Anukul Roy has yet to make a significant impression in his initial two outings.

Kolkata Knight Riders are now aiming to get back on track with a victory against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024. The team led by Shreyas Iyer suffered a seven-wicket defeat in their previous match against the defending champions Super Kings.

However, the Knight Riders secured consecutive wins in their first three matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB, and Delhi Capitals by margins of four runs, seven wickets, and 106 runs, respectively. They currently hold the second position in the latest points table with three wins in four games.

“We have to go back to the drawing board” -Shreyas Iyer’s response post KKR’s loss in IPL 2024

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer mentioned that they will bounce back after experiencing their initial defeat of the IPL 2024 season. In his remarks following their match against CSK, Iyer stated:

“We have to go back to the drawing board and got to learn from that. I am glad this happened at the start of the tournament. When we go back, we know our home conditions pretty well. We need to analyze the situations and need to make the best use of it.”

The Knight Riders are aiming for their third IPL trophy. Gautam Gambhir, who captained them to victory in 2012 and 2014, is currently serving as the team’s mentor for the current season.
