WATCH: Rishabh Pant And MS Dhoni Playing Tennis After IPL’s Auction

Rishabh Pant was notably active and prominent during the Indian Premier League mini-auction held in Dubai. Alongside key figures from the Delhi Capitals like head coach Ricky Ponting and Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly, Pant was deeply involved in the bidding process, showcasing a hands-on approach in securing potential players for his team. This event was significant as it marked Pant’s return to the public eye since his involvement in a car accident last December.

During the same day, an intriguing video emerged showing Pant engaged in a friendly game on a padel court with the revered former Indian captain, MS Dhoni. This casual yet spirited match between the two cricketers garnered attention, especially when Pant executed a remarkable overhead smash, surprising Dhoni and earning himself roaring applause.

Interestingly, while Pant was actively engaged in the auction proceedings, Dhoni opted to stay away from the bidding table for his team, the Chennai Super Kings. Nonetheless, the legendary captain’s presence was undeniable, as evidenced by the warm reception he received upon landing in the city on the auction day.

Dhoni’s recent interactions within the cricketing community have also been noteworthy. He hosted a dinner at his residence for fellow cricketers Suresh Raina and RP Singh, signaling camaraderie and bonding off the field. Furthermore, earlier in the year, glimpses of Dhoni and Pant celebrating Diwali together had delighted fans. Looking ahead, there’s keen anticipation for Pant’s comeback, especially since he missed both IPL 2023 and the ODI World Cup due to his unfortunate car accident.

In a heartening update, Pant expressed gratitude to his fans through an interview posted by the Delhi Capitals, assuring them of his eagerness and determination to return to the cricketing arena.

“It has been really amazing, because whenever we play cricket, we feel no one loves us because there is always pressure. Actually it is a bit of hard time, but I got to know atleast people love us, they respect us and the kind of appreciation and the kind of concern I would say people have shown, I think it was heartfelt for me,” Pant continues

“It means a lot as an individual when you are going through a very rough time. If your supporters show you love, then it means a lot, and it really helps in recovery,”
