India’s wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant recently showcased his culinary side by baking a pizza. The 27-year-old, sporting a black plaster on his right foot, was seen limping as he moved around. The injury occurred during the fourth Test of India’s recently concluded five-match away series against England, when a reverse sweep attempt against pacer Chris Woakes struck his toe and resulted in a fracture.

Joking about the moment, Pant said that although he managed to bake a pizza, he still hadn’t cooked anything at home. This lighthearted comment was captured in a video shared on his official Instagram handle.

“Ghar pe to kuch banaya nahi hai, yaha pizza bana raha hai (I haven’t cooked anything at home, and here I am cooking a pizza).”

Sharing a peek into his cooking skills, Pant captioned:

“Impasto, salsa, forno… and me 🍕.”

Rishabh Pant retired hurt on 37 on Day 1 of the fourth Test after a painful toe injury and was taken off in a golf cart. Showing courage, he returned on Day 2 to score a gritty 54 off 75 balls with three fours and two sixes.

Rishabh Pant was named vice-captain of India’s Test squad for the England tour, serving as deputy to Shubman Gill, who assumed leadership after Rohit Sharma’s red-ball retirement. Pant impressed fans with his brilliant batting in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, scoring two centuries and three fifties.

He accumulated 479 runs in seven innings at an impressive average of 68.42. A foot injury forced him to miss the final match, leading to Tamil Nadu’s Narayan Jagadeesan being drafted in as a backup wicketkeeper. India entered the fifth Test trailing 1-2 but secured a dramatic six-run win at The Oval, London, leveling the series 2-2.
