Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was present at Lord’s for India’s third and final ODI against England on Sunday, July 19, amid speculation surrounding the former captain’s international future. She was spotted arriving at the iconic venue ahead of the series decider, accompanied by the couple’s daughter, Samaira.

Rohit has endured a difficult series with the bat so far. The experienced opener managed 11 runs off 21 balls in the first ODI before scoring 26 from 47 deliveries in the second match. A video of Ritika and Samaira arriving at Lord’s has since surfaced on social media.

Meanwhile, a report by The Indian Express suggested that the third ODI at Lord’s could be Rohit Sharma’s final international match. However, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia later dismissed the retirement speculation.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra expressed confidence that Rohit Sharma would continue in the ODI setup beyond the England series. However, he added that if this did turn out to be Rohit’s final international appearance, he hoped the veteran would sign off with a century. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said:

“I really hope that India wins, and I really hope that Rohit Sharma scores the runs this time around. Firstly, he is not going anywhere. The guy is not retiring. However, if the conversation goes in the direction where it’s finalized and you tell Rohit that you are no longer continuing with him, I hope it’s not, but if it were to be the last game, I want him to score a century.”

“Whenever he says goodbye to this format, he should leave with a lasting impression. That’s my only small wish. It’s probably the beauty of cricket that, despite playing so much cricket, being an absolute legend of a cricketer, and having a phenomenal international career, you reach a stage where the relevance of the match increases. You making runs becomes necessary.”
