The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma along with his team began training on Monday at the Leicestershire County Ground ahead of the rescheduled fifth Test in England, starting July 1 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham.
The first batch of Indian players has reached Leicester. Meanwhile, the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, have boarded the flight to join the Indian team. The Indian team will train for a week in Leicester. They will also play a four-day warmup game against Leicestershire from Friday, June 24.
On Monday, Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were seen batting the net session. They tried to get accustomed to the English conditions. The BCCI posted a video on their social media handles, featuring the batting duo. They captioned it as “#TeamIndia openers captain @rohitsharma45 and @shubmangill are getting into the groove on Day 1 of our nets session. 👍👍”

Shubman Gill likely to open for India in the fifth test
Indian batter Shubman Gill is likely to open the innings for India along with Rohit Sharma. Regular opener KL Rahul suffered a groin injury before the start of the T20I series against South Africa.
He is reportedly ruled out of the fifth Test match against England. India is unlikely to name a replacement, as Shubman Gill is already a backup opening option in the team.
