Indian batting stalwart Rohit Sharma was left emotional after seeing his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, in tears while celebrating his prestigious Padma Shri honour. In a video that has gone viral on social media, fans surprised the 38-year-old with a cake to mark the achievement, with Ritika by his side.
Noticing her emotions, Rohit sweetly remarked, “My wife is crying.” Rohit Sharma was conferred with the Padma Shri on January 26, alongside India women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
After leading India to T20 World Cup glory in 2024, he became only the second Indian captain after MS Dhoni to achieve the feat. He also guided the Men in Blue to a Champions Trophy title earlier last year.
