The Wankhede Stadium stands may have been empty, but the sound of the ball meeting the bat was deafening yesterday as Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma turned an intra-squad practice match into his own personal highlight reel.

With the IPL 2026 season opener just days away, the “Hitman” looked in mid-season form, specifically targeting his own teammate and world-class pacer Trent Boult. The centerpiece of the evening was the face-off between “Rohit XI” and “Boult XI.”

While Boult is known for his lethal Powerplay swing, Rohit seemed to have the answers before the questions were even asked. The highlight of the session was a vintage Rohit Sharma pull shot off a short-pitched delivery from Boult that cleared the deep mid-wicket boundary with ease.
