Veteran cricketer Rohit Sharma was spotted at Mumbai airport on Thursday, May 8, accompanied by teammate Tilak Varma. The duo is en route to Ahmedabad for their upcoming IPL 2025 clash against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), set to be held on Sunday, May 11, at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

This appearance also marks Rohit’s first public outing since he announced his retirement from Test cricket during the ongoing IPL season. On Wednesday, May 7, the 38-year-old had taken to Instagram Stories to share a heartfelt message.

“Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. It’s been an absolute honor to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format.”

Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings have faced off 32 times in IPL history, with MI winning 17 and PBKS 15. In their last clash during IPL 2024, MI posted 192/7, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s 78. Despite Ashutosh Sharma’s quick 61, PBKS were bowled out for 183, losing by 9 runs.
