Watch- Rohit Sharma Wins Hearts By Asking Virat Kohli To Re-Enter The Field For ‘Guard Of Honour’

There have been many media reports in the past few years about a rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The duo, however, has always denied any such rumours.

Moreover, there have been several incidents on and off the field that have demonstrated that there is no divide between the two gems of Indian cricket. Another example of the same was seen on Saturday in the ongoing Mohali Test between India and Sri Lanka.

It’s a special occasion for Virat Kohli as he has become the 12th Indian to represent the nation in 100 Test matches. He has joined Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Ishant Sharma in the elite list.

Keeping that in mind, Rohit Sharma along with other teams members tried to make the moment very special for Virat. The Indian team had declared their first innings at 574/8.

The Indian players were preparing to take field for the Sri Lankan innings. Along with other players, Virat was also standing near the boundary. That is when skipper Rohit Sharma asked Virat to again go back behind the boundary rope and re-enter the field, as the team wants to give him a ‘Guard of honour‘.

Towards the end of the viral video clip, Virat can also been thanking Rohit for the lovely gesture. The moment melted the hearts of all Indian cricket fans.

Wait for the 71st century continues for Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli looked fantastic with the bat during the first innings. However, just as he seemed to be on path to end his century drought, left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya bowled a stunning delivery that rattled Kohli’s stumps. His innings ended at 45 runs off 76 balls, which included 5 boundaries.
