[WATCH] Ross Adair’s Stunning Direct Hit Sends Ishan Kishan In

Team India opener Ishan Kishan was involved in a costly mix-up with vice-captain Tilak Varma during the second T20I against Ireland in Belfast on Sunday, June 28. Chasing 155, India lost the wicket of Ishan Kishan on the second-last ball of the fifth over. Tilak, who was on strike, guided the ball towards backward point and looked for a quick single.

Kishan responded immediately and ran from the non-striker’s end. However, the ball went straight to Ross Adair, who produced a brilliant direct hit at the non-striker’s end. Kishan was caught well short of his crease and had no chance of getting back. He looked disappointed as he glanced at Tilak before walking back to the pavilion, while Ireland celebrated the crucial breakthrough.

With the series on the line, India got off to a terrible start and were reduced to 35/4 after Ishan Kishan’s dismissal. The Men in Blue had already lost the first T20I by 34 runs, making this second and final match a must-win to draw the two-match series.

Tough Series for In-Form Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan entered the Ireland series in excellent form. After returning to India’s T20I side, he played a key role in the team’s 2026 T20 World Cup title win, scoring 317 runs in nine matches at an average of 35.22 and an impressive strike rate of 193.29.

He carried that form into IPL 2026, where he scored 602 runs in 15 matches at an average of 40.13 and a strike rate of 182.42, including six half-centuries.

However, Kishan couldn’t continue that purple patch on the Ireland tour. In the first T20I, he was dismissed for just one run off five balls as India failed to chase 183. In the second T20I, his innings ended early after an unfortunate run-out, with the left-hander managing only 12 runs from 11 deliveries.
