[WATCH]- Russell’s Fiery Yorker Knocks Over du Plessis In TSL vs LAKR MLC 2025 Clash

Veteran all-rounder Andre Russell produced a brilliant yorker to dismiss Texas Super Kings (TSK) skipper Faf du Plessis during the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) match against Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) at the Oakland Coliseum in California. The well-directed delivery shattered du Plessis’ defences and bowled him out for just 8 runs from 10 balls.

Earlier in the match, LAKR captain Sunil Narine won the toss and elected to bowl first. TSK began cautiously, managing only 10 runs in the opening two overs. While Ali Khan and Shadley van Schalkwyk opened the bowling, Andre Russell was brought into the attack surprisingly early in the third over.

After being hit for a six by du Plessis on the fourth ball of his over, Russell made a quick comeback. He delivered a pinpoint yorker that breached the batter’s defence and sent the off-stump flying, providing LAKR with their first breakthrough. You can watch the video here:

Faf du Plessis’ early exit left TSK at 17/1, but Mukkamalla and Conway steadied the innings, taking the score to 55/1 by the powerplay. Du Plessis had earlier scored a scratchy 18 in the opener. Russell bowled four overs but was expensive, conceding 53 runs under pressure from Ferreira and Mitchell.

A string of useful cameos powered Texas Super Kings (TSK) to a competitive total of 181/4 in the first innings. In response, Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. They slipped to 43/4 by the seventh over and were eventually bowled out for just 124, with over two overs remaining.

Andre Russell managed only one run from five balls before he was caught by Daryl Mitchell off Noor Ahmad’s bowling in the 11th over. The Caribbean veteran had also fallen for a duck in LAKR’s recent 32-run defeat against the San Francisco Unicorns.
