Krunal Pandya strikes thrice in quick succession for RCB following Ajinkya Rahane’s stellar innings
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Quinton de Kock got an early lifeline when Suyash Sharma dropped him on the third ball of the opening over. However, the South African batter failed to make the most of the chance and was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood on the fifth delivery.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine then steadied the innings, propelling KKR to a solid 60/1 by the end of the powerplay. Rahane maintained an attacking approach, reaching his fifty in just 25 balls before getting out for 56 off 31, courtesy of Krunal Pandya.
Narine played a crucial knock of 44 off 26 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes, before Rasikh Dar Salam claimed his wicket. Krunal Pandya continued his impressive spell, dismissing Venkatesh Iyer (6) and Rinku Singh (12), finishing with excellent figures of 3/29 in four overs.
