[WATCH]- Shaheen Afridi And Matthew Breetzke Involved In A Heated Exchange In PAKvSA 3rd ODI

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi and South African batter Matthew Breetzke were involved in a fiery exchange during the ongoing ODI tri-series match between their teams in Karachi on Wednesday, February 12. The incident occurred when Afridi delivered a fullish ball on middle and leg, which Breetzke nudged towards midwicket.

Unhappy with his shot execution, Breetzke showed visible frustration. However, Afridi appeared to take offense at Breetzke’s reaction and approached him to confront him. This sparked a heated argument between the two, which continued into the next delivery as well.

Breetzke pulled a back-of-a-length delivery from Afridi towards the on-side and took off for a run. However, as he completed the run, he accidentally bumped into Afridi, who had already turned his back. This resulted in another heated exchange, with Afridi confronting the South African batter.

Breetzke, however, remained unfazed and held his ground until the umpire and a few Pakistan players intervened to defuse the situation. You can watch the video here:

South Africa in a strong position against Pakistan in the ODI tri-series

At the time of writing, South Africa had reached 241-3 in 39 overs while batting first in the ongoing match. Having lost the toss, Pakistan could be facing a target exceeding 300 if the Proteas maintain their current scoring rate.

Breetzke, who came in at number three, played a crucial innings of 83 off 84 balls before being dismissed by Khushdil Shah, caught by Salman Agha. His innings featured ten fours and a six.

South Africa also benefited from captain Temba Bavuma’s composed knock of 82 off 96 balls, which ended due to a run-out following a mix-up in the middle. His dismissal led to an unusual celebration from a few Pakistan players, who surrounded Bavuma and loudly cheered in his face.
