Experienced Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is embroiled in yet another controversy, this time for slapping an individual at an event. Regrettably, the incident was captured on camera, and the video has rapidly circulated on various social media platforms.

Allegedly, the incident occurred when Shakib visited voting booths during ongoing polling to personally observe the process. Given Shakib’s celebrity status in the country, his presence garnered considerable attention from the surrounding crowd.

A sudden crowd gathered around Shakib, seeking interaction and photos with the acclaimed all-rounder. In the midst of this, when someone attempted to grab his hand from behind, Shakib became upset and reacted by turning back and slapping the person in the face.

Bangladesh cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan won a parliamentary seat in the general elections held on Sunday, January 7. He contested from Magura-1 for Awami League and achieved a significant victory in the polls that the opposition boycotted.

Another recent viral video of Shakib showed him seated on a stage during his election campaign, surrounded by numerous fans. During the event, he was seen yawning and appeared somewhat puzzled while taking selfies with his supporters.

Shakib Al Hasan’s most recent cricket appearance was during the 2023 World Cup in India, where he led the Bangladesh team. Unfortunately, Bangladesh finished 8th in the points table, winning only two out of nine league games.

In the tournament, Shakib played 7 matches, securing 9 wickets and scoring 186 runs with an average of 26.57, including one half-century.
