[WATCH]- Shami Hits Stumps As Batter Steps Back Late In SRH vs PBKS 2025 Match

In one of the strangest moments of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Mohammed Shami broke the middle stump, but only after Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Nehal Wadhera pulled out of the delivery because he was distracted.

The left-hander pointed towards SRH wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen, indicating that he had been distracted and pulled out before the ball was bowled. You can watch the video here:

The incident occurred during the 13th over of the PBKS innings on Saturday, April 12, with Nehal Wadhera on 23 runs. He was dismissed in the next over, trapped lbw by debutant Eshan Malinga for 27. Wadhera had shared a 73-run stand with PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, helping the team capitalize on the strong start provided by openers Priyansh Arya and Prabsimran Singh.

Mohammed Shami sets an unwanted IPL record in SRH vs PBKS 2025 clash

Mohammed Shami set an unwanted record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the match between SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday, April 12. He recorded the worst bowling performance by an Indian bowler, giving away 75 runs in four overs without taking a wicket. His economy rate was 18.75, only behind Jofra Archer of Rajasthan Royals, who had conceded 76 runs against SRH earlier this season.

Shami’s performance beat Mohit Sharma’s previous record of 73 runs conceded against Delhi Capitals (DC) last year.
