[WATCH] Shreyas Iyer’s Mother Playfully Celebrates After Bowling Him Out In Indoor Cricket

Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer was recently seen enjoying a fun game of indoor cricket with his mother at home following the conclusion of the IPL 2025 season. In a video shared by PBKS on Instagram, Shreyas is seen casually dressed in a white t-shirt and black shorts, playing barefoot in the living room with a plastic ball.

During the light-hearted match, his mother managed to bowl him out, prompting a joyful celebration. She was visibly delighted, laughing playfully and raising both hands in the air in excitement after beating his defence. The heartwarming moment highlighted their close bond and brought smiles to fans online.

After the IPL 2025 season, Shreyas Iyer represented the SoBo Mumbai Falcons in the T20 Mumbai League. He is currently on a break, having joined the Indian team in England for the ongoing five-match Test series. During IPL 2025, he led PBKS to the final, scoring 604 runs in 17 matches at an average of 50.33, with six fifties.

Shreyas Iyer eyes return to India’s Test lineup

Shreyas Iyer has not been included in the Indian squad currently touring England for the Test series. Despite a strong showing in the previous domestic season, consistent performances in ODIs, and a successful IPL campaign, the right-handed batter was overlooked for selection.

With senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli having retired from Test cricket, there were expectations that Shreyas might secure a place in the middle order. However, his return to the red-ball format will have to wait. Shreyas made his Test debut for India in 2021 against New Zealand in Kanpur.

So far, he has featured in 14 Test matches, scoring 811 runs at an average of 36.86, which includes one century and five fifties. His most recent appearance in the format came in February 2024 against England in Visakhapatnam during the home series.
