Dubai Capitals’ batter Sikandar Raza celebrated joyfully after guiding his team to victory in the ILT20 2025 final against the Desert Vipers on Sunday, February 9, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With nine runs needed in the final over, Raza smashed Khuzaima Tanveer for a six on the first delivery.
He then followed it up with a boundary, securing the win for his team. Overcome with emotion, he roared in celebration as his teammates rushed to congratulate him. The Capitals clinched the title with a four-wicket win, sealing the match with four balls to spare. You can watch the video here:

Chasing a target of 190, the Capitals had a shaky start, losing David Warner (4), Gulbadin Naib (5), and skipper Sam Billings (6) early in the innings. However, West Indies duo Shai Hope (43 off 39) and Rovman Powell steadied the chase with a crucial 80-run stand off 53 balls for the fourth wicket.
Powell carried on his momentum, forging a quickfire 41-run partnership off 20 balls with Dasun Shanaka for the fifth wicket. Shanaka played a valuable cameo, scoring 21 off 10, while Powell delivered a stellar 63 off 38, striking seven fours and three sixes.
In the tense final moments, Sikandar Raza took center stage. The right-hander played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 34 off just 12 balls, blasting five fours and a six to guide the Capitals to their maiden ILT20 title.

Dubai Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Desert Vipers had a shaky start, losing openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (5) and Alex Hales (5) early. Max Holden anchored the innings from one end but soon saw Daniel Lawrence depart for 10.
Holden played a fine knock of 76 off 51 balls, forming a key 47-run partnership with Sam Curran, who finished unbeaten on 62 from 33 balls. Azam Khan added a quick 27 off 13, guiding the Vipers to a strong total of 189/5 in 20 overs.
