IPL 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders recently played against Delhi Capitals. After the match, the Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly was seen giving a masterclass to KKR batter Venkatesh Iyer after the KKR vs DC match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 29th April 2024.

However, as far as the game is concerned, it was a one-sided affair as Kolkata Knight Riders restricted Delhi Capitals to a modest total of 153 for 9. Varun Chakvarthy was the pick of bowlers for KKR with 3 for 16 in 4 overs. Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana took 2 wickets each while Starc was again expensive giving away 43 runs and picking the wicket of Fraser McGurk.

Chasing down 154 runs to win, Phil Salt looked in sublime touch putting enough pressure on DC bowlers especially the pacers during the first six overs that made the chase easy. It was a sensational batting effort as Salt was dismissed by Axar Patel for 68 off 33 deliveries with 7 fours and 5 sixes. Venkatesh Iyer and captain Shreyas Iyer stitched an unbeaten 57-run partnership for the 4th wicket that helped KKR register 7 7-wicket win with 21 balls to spare.

Kolkata Knight Riders were supreme with their batting especially Salt and Narine who put on 79 runs for the opening wicket laying a strong foundation for KKR to register a comfortable win. With this win, KKR moved to 2nd place in the points table. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will find it tough to qualify for the playoff stage as they have 3 matches left in the tournament. They need to win all of them and depend on other results.

Kolkata Knight Riders came back after poor bowling against Punjab Kings

Kolkata Knight Riders returned to winning ways after they could not defend 262 runs against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Sunil Narine was very economical while the rest of the bowlers went for runs.

In the batting department, Sunil Narine and Salt put on 138 runs for the opening wicket laying a strong foundation for KKR to build a huge total. Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer and Venetkash Iyer scored cameos that hugely lifted the hosts.

Kolkata Knight Riders would be hoping to continue their good form when they face Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 3rd May.
