[WATCH]- Star Spinner Kuldeep Yadav Recovers At NCA Ahead Of IND vs ENG 2025 ODI Series

Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav recently posted some pictures from his recovery phase at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, expressing gratitude to the support staff for their crucial behind-the-scenes contributions.

Kuldeep had been sidelined due to hernia surgery, an issue that first surfaced during the home Test series against New Zealand. This injury also kept him out of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which India lost 1-3 to Australia.

Now fully recovered, the Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer is eager to make his return to the field and thanked the NCA support staff for their significant role in helping players.

“Recovery takes a team. Grateful to the NCA and its team for all the work behind the scenes! 💪🏻🙏🏻,” Kuldeep Yadav wrote on Instagram along with a few images.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided an official update on Kuldeep during the New Zealand series, revealing that the spinner had been dealing with a persistent groin injury.

“Kuldeep Yadav was unavailable for selection for the tour of Australia since he has been referred to the BCCI Centre of Excellence after the end of the ongoing Test series against New Zealand for long-term resolution of his chronic left groin issue,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Kuldeep Yadav Included In India’s Champions Trophy 2025 Squad

The 30-year-old cricketer, who has not played any competitive cricket since November of the previous year, was included in India’s squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Kuldeep has been in excellent form in white-ball cricket, taking 77 wickets from 48 matches over the past two years. This includes a remarkable performance in ODIs during 2023, where he claimed 49 wickets in 30 games at an average of 20.48.

He will aim to find his rhythm in the upcoming three-match ODI series against England ahead of the major ICC event. The Men in Blue will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai.

India’s squad for Champions Trophy: Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma (c), Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, and Axar Patel.
