Sunil Narine was at his absolute best as he got the better of big guns like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the all-important clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Sharjah. RCB will look for a late flourish to finish the innings on a high.
Opting to bat first, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli got RCB off to a flying start. They added 49 runs for the first wicket in just 5.1 overs to set the platform. But once Lockie Ferguson drew the first blood, Sunil Narine was all over the RCB batters. He got the better of last match’s hero KS Bharat and Virat Kohli before unsettling AB de Villiers.

The incident took place in the 15th over the game. Sunil Narine bowled a normal off-break, and AB de Villiers played all around it. He stretched his front leg across the line and playing down the wrong one. Narine foxed him by the drift and the ball spins in to go past the bat to crash his off-stump.

With 102/4, RCB struggled to get their timings right with the wicket offering two paces. Glenn Maxwell, who has been RCB’s star batter struggled to get the timing right before perishing to Sunil Narine, who returned with figures of 4/21 from his four overs.
The Challengers managed only 138 runs in their 20 overs and now will have to bowl out of their skins to defend this target.
