Suryakumar Yadav played a pivotal role as Mumbai Indians lifted their 5th IPL trophy beating Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He has been one of the highlights of the entire tournament scoring runs consistently and pushing his case for national selection.
Batting at No.3, the right-handed batsman accumulated 480 runs from 16 outings at an average of 40 with a healthy strike rate. He offered stability which made Mumbai Indians one of the strongest batting units in the competition. Meanwhile, many anticipated Suryakumar Yadav to earn a national call-up for the upcoming limited-overs series against Australia.
However, much to everyone’s surprise, the 30-year-old was left out of the squad which sparked a countrywide debate. Many former cricketers slammed the selection panel and BCCI for not utilising the potential of Suryakumar. However, the batter has remained calm and composed and let his bat do the talking.
