Team India landed in Cape Town on Sunday, December 31 ahead of the second and final Test against South Africa, which kicks off on Wednesday, January 3 at the Newlands Stadium. They suffered an embarrassing loss in the first Test by an innings and 32 runs at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

The Indian team had an optional practice session on Saturday in Centurion, before flying to Cape Town for the upcoming Test. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of India’s travel to Cape Town. Some of the players welcomed the New Year with their families. Sharing the video on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter”, the BCCI wrote, “Cape Town #TeamIndia have arrived for the second #SAvIND Test”

Ravindra Jadeja likely to be available for the second Test

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be fit for the second Test against South Africa. The test match kicks off on January 3 in Cape Town. He missed the first Test as he suffered from upper back spasms. In his absence, Ravichandran Ashwin got an opportunity in the first Test. It will be interesting to see who misses out if Ravindra Jadeja is fit for the second Test.

Ahead of the second Test, the Indian team has added Avesh Khan into the team as Mohammed Sham’s replacement. Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the series before the first test. Meanwhile, South African pacer Gerald Coetzee and skipper Temba Bavuma will also miss the second Test. India will be looking to avoid a whitewash in the second Test. Zubayr Hamza is Bavuma’s replacement for the match.
