Team India

The Indian cricket team arrived in England on Tuesday ahead of the five-match T20I series, following a disappointing 2-0 series defeat to Ireland in Belfast. India suffered losses in both matches, drawing criticism from fans over their underwhelming display in Belfast.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video on its official social media handles capturing the team’s journey from Belfast to Durham. The widely shared clip showed the squad boarding a bus to the airport, with captain Shreyas Iyer and several young Indian players also featured.

The video also captures the interaction among the Indian cricketers as they travel for the series against England. The players can be seen chatting with one another, listening to music, and spending time on their tablets during the journey. Team India is set to play the first T20I against England on Wednesday (July 1) in Durham.

Amid Rising Pressure

Team India captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Gautam Gambhir have come under heavy criticism from fans on social media following the defeat to Ireland. Gambhir, in particular, has faced backlash for not giving Vaibhav Sooryavanshi a chance to make his senior India debut.

Hoping For A Strong Comeback

Following the disappointing series in Ireland, supporters will be expecting a strong response from the Indian side under Iyer’s new leadership. Ireland created history by winning a series against Team India for the first time, achieving the feat during Iyer’s maiden stint as India’s captain.

India Squad: Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Tilak Varma (Vice-Captain), Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Suryansh Shedge, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Prince Yadav, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi.
