[WATCH]- Team India Players Receive Diamond Rings To Celebrate 2024 T20 World Cup Victory

Members of Team India, who secured the 2024 T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa in the final in the West Indies and the USA, were honoured with diamond rings by the BCCI at its annual awards ceremony.

A video shared on BCCI’s official Instagram handle showed skipper Rohit Sharma and his teammates receiving the rings. One of the night’s most significant moments was the presentation of the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar.

However, former head coach Rahul Dravid was absent from the event, and star batter Virat Kohli also missed the ceremony as he was competing in the Ranji Trophy for Delhi against Railways.

Despite being on the brink of defeat against South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant catch in the final over to dismiss David Miller proved to be a game-changer, sealing India’s victory and ending their 13-year wait for an ICC trophy. It also marked their first T20 World Cup triumph in 17 years.

At the Naman Awards, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar was honoured with the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award by ICC Chairman Jay Shah in recognition of his exceptional contributions to Indian cricket.

India Engaged in Three-Match ODI Series Against England

Team India is currently hosting England for a three-match ODI series. The Men in Blue secured a comfortable four-wicket victory in the opening match in Nagpur on Thursday, February 6.  The remaining two matches are scheduled to take place in Cuttack and Ahmedabad on February 9 and 12, respectively.

England will need a strong comeback to stay in contention for the series. Having suffered a 1-4 defeat in the preceding T20I series, England appears to be struggling with form. They will need something special to turn things around in Cuttack.

Following the ODI series, both teams will head to Pakistan and the UAE for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. However, due to political tensions, India’s matches will be held exclusively in the UAE.
