The Team India squad reached Mumbai on Monday, after their convincing 10-wicket victory in the Asia Cup 2023 final over Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday. A video captured the arrival of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Ishan Kishan in the city after their triumphant campaign.

India dominated the Asia Cup 2023 final, defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Sri Lanka batted first but was bowled out for just 50 runs, with Mohammed Siraj taking 6 wickets. India then chased down the target easily to claim their eighth Asia Cup title.

In a video posted on ANI’s official Twitter account, Rohit and his teammates can be seen arriving in Mumbai after winning the Asia Cup 2023.

The Indian cricket team will face Australia in a three-match ODI series on home turf as part of their preparations for the upcoming One-Day World Cup. These matches are scheduled for September 22, 24, and 27 in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot, respectively.

“A performance like that in the final will be cherished for a long time” – Rohit Sharma on Winning the Asia Cup

Rohit Sharma, expressing his satisfaction with India’s performance in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka in Colombo, mentioned that the team would hold onto the memory of this comprehensive win for a considerable time.

In his post-match statement, he said: “It was a great performance. To come out and play in the finals like that shows the mental character of everyone who has been a part of the team. It was great from the outset.”

“The way we started with the ball and then a clinical finish with the bat. Our seamers are working really hard for many years and to be rewarded like that is very pleasing for the side moving forward. A performance like that in the final will be cherished for a long time. I never thought it was going to do that much. It comes back to the skillset of the individuals,” he added.

The Indian captain emphasized that this victory is a positive move forward as they prepare for the World Cup. Following the Australia series, the Men in Blue will commence their World Cup journey with a match against Australia in Chennai on October 8th.
