Team India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah shared a funny comment when asked about the similarity between teammate Ishan Kishan and popular rapper Hanumankind. Bumrah jokingly suggested that Kishan might soon need a hairstyle like Hanumankind’s.

Kishan lit up the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo during the high-stakes T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Pakistan on Sunday, February 15. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 77 runs off just 40 balls, helping India post 175/7. India then bowled out their rivals for 114, securing a dominant 61-run win.

When Sanjana Ganesan asked if Bumrah and the team noticed the resemblance, the 32-year-old replied that they spotted it when both stood side by side. He also applauded Hanumankind’s performance that evening. Bumrah said in a video shared by ICC:

“Yeah, we did see it later when they were up close and personal and when the jerseys were exchanged. We didn’t notice at first but then when both of them were standing together, there was a little bit of similarity.”

“So, I think now Ishan has to try and do that haircut. But that would be a little difficult for the helmet to fit in. But yeah, all jokes aside, it was a good performance. It was good for us to see that performance.”

Team India First From Group A To Reach Super 8s In T20 World Cup 2026

Following their 61-run victory, the defending champions have become the first team from Group A to secure a spot in the Super 8 stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup. They also continue their dominant record against Pakistan in T20 World Cups, having won eight of their nine encounters.

Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates will take on the Netherlands in their final group match on Wednesday, February 18, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pakistan, on the other hand, must defeat Namibia in their last group game to keep their Super 8 hopes alive.
