Suryakumar Yadav

Team India star Suryakumar Yadav looked in excellent form during a net session ahead of the upcoming T20I series against Australia. The Men in Blue are set to play a five-match series Down Under starting Wednesday, October 29, with the opening game scheduled in Canberra. Suryakumar, who leads India in the T20I format, was spotted training on Monday, October 27, wearing the team’s practice kit.

He faced bowlers such as Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah, showcasing his wide range of strokes. The 35-year-old looked fluent as he executed lofted shots, pulls, cover drives, and his trademark flicks behind the wicket.

After completing his net session, Suryakumar Yadav took time to interact with fans, signing bats, jerseys, and caps for those in attendance. You can watch the video here:

India went down 1-2 in the recently concluded three-match ODI series, and the Men in Blue will be eager to make a strong comeback in the upcoming T20I contest. The last time they played a T20I series in Australia, back in 2020/21, the visitors emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.

The second T20I is scheduled for Melbourne, followed by the third in Hobart. Gold Coast will host the fourth match, while the series finale will be held in Brisbane.

All Eyes On Suryakumar Yadav As India Eye T20I Series Glory

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s recent form could be a minor concern for Team India ahead of the T20I series. The star batter has found it difficult to maintain consistency with the bat in recent outings. Though he led India to the Asia Cup 2025 title, Suryakumar managed only 72 runs in six innings at an average of 18 and a strike rate of 101.40.

In T20Is played in Australia, Suryakumar has produced impressive numbers — scoring 239 runs in six matches at an average of 59.75 and a strike rate of 189.68, including three fifties. The Indian skipper will look to rediscover his touch and make a strong impact once again on Australian soil.

Overall, Suryakumar has represented India in 90 T20Is, amassing 2,670 runs at an average of 37.08 and a strike rate of 164.20, with four centuries and 21 half-centuries to his name.
