Star Indian batter Rohit Sharma was given a grand reception at Mumbai Airport after returning from Australia, where India played a three-match ODI series. Despite the Men in Blue losing the series 2-1, the Mumbai-born opener stood out with his brilliant performances and was named the Player of the Series.
Over the three matches, Rohit scored 202 runs at an impressive average of 101.00 and a strike rate of 85.59, featuring a half-century and an unbeaten 121 in the final ODI in Sydney on October 25. When he landed in India on Monday, fans gathered at the airport to cheer for him, and Rohit obliged them by signing autographs before leaving in his black Range Rover.

The 38-year-old cricketer has featured in 276 One-Day Internationals for India, amassing 11,370 runs from 268 innings at an excellent average of 49.22 and a strike rate of 92.66. His remarkable record also includes 59 fifties and 33 centuries.
Ex-cricketer hails Rohit Sharma as “irreplaceable” for Team India
After Rohit Sharma’s standout performance in the ODI series against Australia, former Indian opener Kris Srikkanth asserted that the Mumbai batter is certain to be part of the 2027 World Cup squad, emphasizing that the team simply cannot operate without him. Discussing the matter on his YouTube channel, the 65-year-old remarked:
“Rohit is a certainty in the 2027 World Cup. We can’t play without him and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma has lost 11 Kgs and looks super fit. It was the old Rohit Sharma, with the touch game. He was batting with such ease and playing the ball so late.”
“Don’t bring up this whole age issue that he’s touching 40. He’s fit, batting well and catching brilliantly at slips. What else do you need? He’s playing with such ease like he did in the 2019 World Cup. Only thing is he didn’t get to the seventh or eighth gear and kept going at third and fourth gear,” he added.
