Team India batter Tilak Varma pulled off a spectacular boundary-line catch during the second T20I against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday, October 30. Displaying remarkable athleticism, Tilak sprinted a long distance and momentarily stepped beyond the rope before regaining his balance and completing the catch inside the field of play.
The moment unfolded in the fifth over of Australia’s innings, shortly after Suryakumar Yadav introduced leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy in an attempt to halt the Aussies’ quick scoring. When Travis Head launched a powerful shot straight down the ground, Tilak dashed to his left to intercept it.
Sensing that his momentum would take him over the boundary, the youngster smartly lobbed the ball up, stepped back inside, and completed the grab. After a thorough review, the third umpire confirmed it as a clean catch, sending Head back to the pavilion.
