Team India bowler Umran Malik showcased the magic of his express pace once again against Sri Lanka in the second T20I on Thursday, January 5 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. He dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksha and Wanindu Hasaranga with two great deliveries in the first innings. Umran Malik is considered one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket at the moment. His thunderbolt pace has been impressive at the international level.

Batting first, Sri Lanka got off to a great start, scoring around 8 runs per over in the first eight overs. However, Kusal Mendis was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, which brought Bhanuka Rajapaksa to the crease. Sri Lanka was 80/1 in 8.2 overs. The left-handed batter tried to get settled in, however, Umran Malik’s express pace got the better of him. In the tenth over, Umran Malik came on to bowl, looking to further dent Sri Lanka’s batting unit.

On the first delivery, the pacer bowled a back-of-length delivery from round the wicket. The ball skidded through, cramping Rajapaksa for room, as he looked to angle the delivery down to the third man. Instead, he chopped it off the inside edge onto the stumps. The delivery was clocked at 147kmph, making it one of the fastest in the series.

Umran Malik bowls a ripper to dismiss Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasaranga was dismissed for a golden duck thanks to Umran Malik’s brilliant delivery. The pacer sent back Charith Asalanka for thirty-seven runs in the sixteenth over. Hasaranga came at the crease, but couldn’t stand the wrath of Umran’s pace. The Indian bowler bowled a fuller delivery, which crashed on to Hasaranga’s stumps. The batter failed to get in the line of the delivery and had to walk back to the hut disappointed.
