[WATCH] Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes 5 Sixes In U-19 ODI vs England

Opening batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a blistering knock of 48 runs off just 19 balls for India Under-19 against England Under-19 at Hove on Friday, June 27. The right-handed batter played with confidence and put pressure on the England bowlers. However, he got out while trying a big shot off Ralphie Albert and missed his chance to score a half-century on debut.

The left-hander struck three fours and five sixes during a quickfire knock before falling to Ralphie Albert in the eighth over, after putting on a 71-run opening stand with captain Ayush Mhatre in 7.3 overs to give India a strong start in their chase of 175. You can watch the video here:

Wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu also impressed, scoring 45 off 34 deliveries. Captain Ayush Mhatre contributed 21 runs from 30 balls before getting out.

India U-19 bowlers Shine In Win Over England In Youth ODI Opener

England Under-19 skipper Thomas Rew opted to bat first after winning the toss, but the decision backfired as India’s bowlers delivered a tight and disciplined performance. Off-spinner Kanishk Chauhan led the attack with impressive figures of 3/20 in his 10 overs.

Pacers Henil Patel and RS Ambrish, along with leg-spinner Mohamed Enaan, chipped in with two wickets each to bowl England out for 174 in 42.2 overs. Rocky Flintoff, son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, was the top scorer with 56 off 90 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.

Opener Isaac Mohammed added a brisk 42 from 28 balls, including three fours and four sixes. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to contribute significantly, leaving England with a modest total to defend. The second Youth ODI is scheduled for Monday, June 30, in Northampton.
