Young Prodigy Stuns With A Triple-Century After Taking Inspiration From Friend Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Motivated by his close friend Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 13-year-old Ayan Raj grabbed headlines after hammering an unbeaten 327 runs from just 134 deliveries in a district-level cricket match held in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Representing Sanskriti Cricket Academy in a 30-over game, Ayan’s blistering knock featured 22 sixes and 41 fours, with a staggering 296 runs coming through boundaries alone.

Displaying maturity and power far beyond his years, Ayan struck at a remarkable rate of 220.89, dismantling the opposition with effortless hitting. His incredible feat came only weeks after Suryavanshi’s breakthrough IPL season, where the young Rajasthan Royals batter made waves by scoring the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history—a 35-ball ton against Gujarat Titans.

Ayan spoke about the strong bond he shares with Vaibhav, admitting that he has always idolised him. Suryavanshi’s recent rise in the cricketing world, along with comparisons to Sachin Tendulkar, has only further inspired Ayan to pursue excellence on the field.

“Every time I talk to Vaibhav bhai, I get a special feeling. We used to play together when we were younger. Today, he has made a big name for himself, and I’m also following in his footsteps,” Raj told News18 in an interview.

Suryavanshi Eyes Bigger Impact After IPL Heroics

Rajasthan Royals’ teenage prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has promised to raise the bar in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), aiming to guide his team to the final. The 14-year-old made a sensational debut in IPL 2025, launching his very first ball for a six and later blasting a record-breaking 35-ball century—the fastest ever by an Indian in the league.

In his maiden season, Suryavanshi racked up 252 runs in seven innings at an average of 36 and an impressive strike rate of 206.55. His standout performances featured both a century and a half-century, earning him the ‘Super Striker of the Season’ award for having the tournament’s highest strike rate.

Looking back at his impactful debut, Suryavanshi expressed his determination to push his game even further in hopes of taking Rajasthan Royals to the title next season.
