Vaibhav Suryavanshi and the rest of the Rajasthan Royals squad arrived in Mullanpur from Mumbai ahead of their crucial IPL 2026 Eliminator clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. As usual, the teenage sensation attracted significant attention from photographers, who were keen to capture moments with the young star.
However, it was skipper Riyan Parag who grabbed the spotlight with his witty response. Shortly after the team’s arrival, a photographer requested Parag to pose for a picture alongside Suryvanshi. The Rajasthan Royals captain jokingly replied:
We aren’t film stars,” and walked away instead of posing for the photo. The unexpected response appeared to catch Suryavanshi off guard, with the youngster reacting with a humorous expression towards his captain.

Look at Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s reaction when the paparazzis said to Riyan Parag, “Riyan, Vaibhav ke saath ek photo please,” and Riyan replied, “Hum koi film star nahi hain.” After hearing this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s smile disappeared. 👀

Despite the light-hearted exchange, the incident did little to affect the bond between Riyan Parag and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. In fact, Parag has been one of the youngster’s strongest supporters throughout the season. Sooryavanshi was even seen seeking blessings from Parag’s father, highlighting the close relationship shared within the camp.
The young batter’s rise has been nothing short of remarkable. He became the youngest player to score 500 runs in a single IPL season and has established himself as one of the standout stars of IPL 2026. Former England captain Michael Vaughan also praised Suyavanshi’s growing popularity, noting his ability to attract crowds wherever he plays.
Suryavanshi ended the league stage with 583 runs from 14 matches, the fifth-highest run tally of the season. He is now just six sixes away from matching Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in a single IPL campaign and seven away from surpassing it.
With at least one playoff match still to come, the youngster will have another chance to entertain fans, and potentially two more if Rajasthan Royals progress to the final.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Continues to Rewrite the Record Books
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already achieved feats that few players manage at such a young age. Just as Sachin Tendulkar announced his arrival on the international stage with a fearless assault on Abdul Qadir in the late 1980s, Sooryavanshi has taken on some of the world’s best fast bowlers without hesitation, including Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood, Kagiso Rabada and Mitchell Starc.
With Rajasthan Royals discovering a genuine superstar, the youngster now has the perfect opportunity to inspire the franchise to another IPL final and possibly its first title since 2008. With three half-centuries and a century already to his name this season, Suryavanshi has made an extraordinary impact.
The teenage sensation has also spoken about his ambition to achieve something never seen before in T20 cricket, a double century, and eclipse Chris Gayle’s legendary 175-run innings. He has previously come close to such milestones with scores of 190 and 175 in 50-over cricket.
Given the pace of his development and his fearless approach, few would rule out the possibility of him turning that dream into reality.
