Ace Indian cricketer Virat Kohli appeared in high spirits upon his arrival at Mumbai airport on Wednesday, January 7. The Delhi-born batter had recently welcomed the 2026 New Year in Dubai with family and friends, with glimpses from the holiday circulating widely on social media.

As the New Zealand series draws closer and the Indian squad is scheduled to regroup in Baroda later today, Kohli cut short his break and returned to India. He was seen flashing a smile while heading to his car after landing in Mumbai. You can watch the video here:

Meanwhile, the three-match ODI series will get underway on Sunday, January 11, with the opening encounter set to take place in Vadodara. The action will then move to Rajkot and Indore for the second and third games on Wednesday, January 14, and Sunday, January 18, respectively.

In terms of squad composition, the Men in Blue receive a significant boost with the return of captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, both of whom were sidelined with injuries during the previous ODI series against South Africa.

Virat Kohli Averages 55.23 Against New Zealand In ODIs

Virat Kohli will aim to build on his outstanding record against New Zealand when India welcome the Black Caps for the forthcoming ODI series. The right-handed batter has appeared in 33 ODIs versus New Zealand, accumulating 1,657 runs at an average of 55.23 and a strike rate of 95.50, highlighted by nine half-centuries and six centuries.

In his overall ODI career, the 37-year-old has represented the Men in Blue in 308 matches, scoring 14,557 runs at an average of 58.46 and a strike rate of 93.65. His tally includes 76 fifties and 53 centuries.
