Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli was seen engaged in an animated conversation with selector and former India spinner Pragyan Ojha. The two were seated next to each other at the airport as the squad traveled to Raipur for the second ODI against South Africa, scheduled for Wednesday, December 3.
Ojha was recently appointed to the Ajit Agarkar–led selection panel, replacing S Sarath and Subroto Banerjee, alongside former fast bowler RP Singh. While Agarkar and several other selectors are currently occupied with monitoring the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy ahead of a T20-packed calendar, Ojha has been accompanying the national team.
A video circulating on social media shows Kohli speaking intently, appearing to voice his thoughts and concerns, while Ojha listens carefully and nods in response. You can watch the video here:

Pragyan Ojha was also seen seated near head coach Gautam Gambhir at the airport, with Rohit Sharma positioned close by as well. According to reports, the dressing-room atmosphere within the ODI squad is currently tense, with noticeable friction between senior players and the team management.
The selectors and management recently made a major decision by removing Rohit Sharma as captain and appointing Shubman Gill in his place. Uncertainty continues to surround the future of both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in relation to the 2027 ODI World Cup, as the management appears keen on accelerating the transition phase.
Virat Kohli Sends Strong Message With Century in 1st ODI vs South Africa
Virat Kohli delivered a powerful response in the opening match of the series against South Africa, following a difficult run in Australia as he returned to international action. The star batter slammed his 52nd ODI century, scoring 135 off 120 balls and guiding India to a total of 349/8. His effort proved decisive, as the Men in Blue clinched a 17-run victory to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
“I have never been a big believer of a lot of preparation. All my cricket has been mental. I work hard on my fitness and as long as I mentally in a good space, I will be able to score the runs. If I’m arriving somewhere I give my 120 percent. I came a few days back and I’m 37 so I also need to look after recovery,” Virat Kohli said during the post-match presentation after being named man of the match.
