[WATCH] Virat Kohli Picks Up Indian Flag, Wins Hearts And Match In Sydney

Virat Kohli once again showcased his patriotism and humility after India’s thumping nine-wicket win against Australia in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground. As he was making his way back to the dressing room, a fan accidentally dropped the Indian national flag. Kohli immediately noticed it, picked it up, and respectfully handed it back to the fan.

The video of his gesture quickly went viral on social media, with fans and cricket lovers praising him not just for his performance but also for his deep respect for the country. This heartwarming act came on a day when Kohli silenced critics by returning to form with an unbeaten 74 after enduring two consecutive ducks earlier in the series.

Kohli And Rohit Lead India To A Commanding Win

The match marked a dominant display by India, driven by the experienced duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Chasing 237, the two senior batters put on a batting clinic, stitching together an unbeaten 168-run partnership that guided India to victory with 11.3 overs to spare. Rohit Sharma was in sublime touch, smashing 13 fours and three sixes en route to his 121 not out off 125 balls—his 33rd ODI century.

Kohli, on the other hand, played with calm authority, scoring 74 not out off 81 balls with seven boundaries. Their partnership not only ensured India avoided a clean sweep but also reaffirmed the value of their long-standing chemistry at the crease. Kohli’s knock also saw him become the second-highest run-getter in ODI history, a testament to his consistency and greatness.

Kohli Reflects On Form, Partnership, And The Game’s Challenges

After the match, Virat Kohli reflected candidly on his form and the challenges of the sport, saying, “Good to be out of the pond, honestly (after consecutive ducks). You’ve scored so many runs in international cricket, but then the game shows you everything, even at this stage. Almost 37 in not many days, and I still cannot feel like I don’t know how to get a run. I mean, this game is amazing. That’s why we love batting; we love batsmanship. It’s so challenging when it’s not going your way.”

He further added, “Just to find your rhythm again, of course, going out there, having a situation to play in always is something that always brings out the best in me. When Rohit’s already batting there, it’s pretty easy to kind of keep rotating strike. We understand each other’s game pretty well. So again, really good to have a big partnership and another match finishing partnership for us.” Kohli’s words and actions together reflected the maturity, composure, and passion that continue to define his illustrious cricketing journey.
