Star Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli was spotted chatting with Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinners Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga following their IPL 2025 match. The game, held on Sunday, April 13, saw RCB secure a dominant nine-wicket victory over RR.

During the conversation, Hasaranga was seen holding Kohli’s bat, prompting the RCB star to ask whether it felt heavy or light. Kohli then promised to gift him one of his bats when the two sides face off again in Bengaluru.

Wanindu Hasaranga, now part of the Rajasthan Royals squad, started his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2021 and remained with the franchise through the 2023 season. This year, RCB and RR are scheduled to meet once again in the league stage, with the match set to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, April 24.

Virat Kohli’s Unbeaten Fifty Powers RCB to Another Away Win

RCB notched up their fourth win of the IPL 2025 season, continuing their impressive form on the road. Interestingly, all of their victories have come in away games, while they’ve suffered defeats in both matches played at their home ground.

Chasing a target of 174 against Rajasthan Royals after opting to bowl first, RCB got off to a blazing start thanks to openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, who stitched together a 92-run partnership in just 8.4 overs. Salt played a quick-fire knock of 65 before being dismissed, but Kohli anchored the chase with a composed innings.

The RCB stalwart remained unbeaten on 62 off 45 deliveries, hitting four fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 137.78. His effort guided RCB to a comfortable nine-wicket win with 15 balls remaining. This was Kohli’s third fifty of the season and marked his 100th T20 half-century overall. His consistent form has been a key factor in RCB’s strong performance so far this campaign.
