Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli has started preparing for the team’s title defence in the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League. The 37-year-old looked in great form as he played several big shots during a recent practice session in the United Kingdom.
In a video shared by Kohli on Instagram on Wednesday, March 11, he can be seen training hard in indoor nets as he gets ready for the upcoming season. The former RCB captain captioned the video:

Virat Kohli played an important role in helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru win their first-ever title in the Indian Premier League last year. He was the team’s highest run-scorer that season, scoring 657 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 144.71.
The Bengaluru team defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in a thrilling final. RCB successfully defended a target of 191 runs. Kohli was the top scorer for his team in the final, making an important 43 runs off 35 balls.

Virat Kohli retired from T20 internationals after India national cricket team won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. In the final against South Africa national cricket team, he was named Player of the Match for scoring 76 runs off 59 balls. After struggling earlier in the tournament, the experienced batter stepped up with a crucial performance in the high-pressure final.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team created history in the recently finished ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Men in Blue became the first team ever to successfully defend a men’s T20 World Cup title. Praising the team’s achievement, Kohli wrote in his appreciation post on Instagram:

India national cricket team now have three men’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup titles, the most by any team. They also became the first team to win the tournament on home soil. In the final, India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, March 8.
