Delhi Capitals had a shaky start in their chase of 176 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The visitors kept losing wickets at regular intervals during the powerplay, which added to the mounting pressure on their batting lineup.
However, RCB were aware of KL Rahul’s ability to rescue his team from difficult situations, having seen it happen before. Familiar with the conditions in Bengaluru, the Karnataka batter chose to counterattack despite the early setbacks, taking on the bowlers and trying to shift momentum in Delhi’s favor.
Virat Kohli Pulls Off Brilliant Catch to Remove KL Rahul in IPL 2026
KL Rahul anticipated a full-length delivery outside off stump, clearing his front leg even before Josh Hazlewood released the ball, and lofted it over extra cover for a towering six. He followed it up in the fifth over by dispatching another delivery from the same bowler over deep square leg for another maximum.
The right-hander maintained his aggressive approach, striking two consecutive boundaries off the pacer and holding the innings together for the Capitals. He also took on leg-spinner Suyash Sharma, finding the boundary twice.
Continuing his fluent stroke play, Rahul brought up a well-crafted half-century in just 30 deliveries, anchoring the innings while keeping the scoreboard moving. Watch the video here:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, however, cut short KL Rahul’s innings, dismissing him for 57 off 34 balls, an effort that included six fours and two sixes. On the opening delivery of the 11th over, Rahul advanced down the pitch and attempted to loft a tossed-up ball from Krunal Pandya, only to mistime it as the ball ballooned into the air.
Virat Kohli sprinted forward, kept his eyes fixed on the descending ball, and safely completed the catch with both hands. While the effort required sharp judgment and control, Kohli made it appear effortless—something top fielders are known for.
