Virat Kohli smashed back-to-back sixes off Spencer Johnson in the IPL 2025 opener between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on Saturday, March 22. The star batter was in top form as he played identical strokes, launching the ball straight over the bowler’s head to start the fifth over with a bang.

Spencer Johnson delivered a length ball outside off, which Kohli stepped across and lofted towards the sight screen for a six, with the ball landing on the boundary skirtings. He then replicated the shot on the very next delivery, dispatching a length ball angling across him over the ropes.

The 36-year-old showcased his brilliance, thrilling the crowd with his attacking display. You can watch the video here:

Notably, Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in IPL history, with over 8,000 runs to his name. He also claimed the Orange Cap last season. As Royal Challengers Bengaluru chase their first-ever IPL title, Kohli will be eager to maintain his stellar form in the tournament.
