West Delhi Lions lift DPL 2025 trophy after emphatic final victory
Meanwhile, under Nitish Rana’s leadership, the West Delhi Lions proved too strong for the Central Delhi Kings on Sunday, cruising to a six-wicket win. Half-centuries from Yugal Saini (65) and Pranshu Vijayran (50*) helped the Kings post a competitive total of 173/7 in their allotted overs. For the Lions, Manan Bharadwaj and Shivank Vashisht shone with the ball, picking up two wickets each.
Chasing the target, Rana played a brilliant innings, remaining unbeaten on 79 off 49 balls, hitting four fours and seven sixes. His partner Hrithik Shokeen supported him with a steady 42* off 27 deliveries, guiding the Lions to victory with six wickets in hand and two overs to spare.
Rana, the left-handed batter, has been in exceptional form in the closing stages of the tournament. He smashed 134 off 55 balls against South Delhi Superstarz in the Eliminator and followed it up with an unbeaten 45 against East Delhi Riders in Qualifier 2. The 31-year-old will be hoping that this rich vein of form earns him a potential recall to the Indian team.
