Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal clicked a picture with former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma and got his jersey signed by the veteran batter. The two sides faced off in the 20th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, April 7, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Batting first, RCB posted a formidable 221/5 in 20 overs, courtesy of half-centuries from Virat Kohli (67 off 42) and skipper Rajat Patidar (64 off 32). Devdutt Padikkal (37 off 22) and Jitesh Sharma (40* off 19) chipped in with impactful knocks. In response, Yash dismissed Rohit for 17 in the second over.

Tilak Varma’s impressive 56 off 29 and Hardik Pandya’s quick 42 off 15 gave MI hope, but they eventually ended on 209/9, falling short by 12 runs. After the match, Yash shared an Instagram post featuring a photo with Rohit Sharma and a signed jersey from the Mumbai star. He captioned the post:

Meanwhile, RCB holds the third spot on the points table with six points from four matches, continuing their strong form this season, whereas MI is placed eighth with only two points from five games after a string of disappointing performances.

Yash Dayal Shines with the Ball in IPL 2025

Yash Dayal was retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for ₹5 crore ahead of the 2025 mega-auction. The left-arm pacer has justified the investment so far, picking up five wickets in four games at an average of 21.80 and an economy of 8.38 in IPL 2025. In total, the 27-year-old has featured in 32 IPL matches, taking 33 wickets, with his best figures being 3 for 20.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) next match is against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 7:30 PM IST. The game will be held at RCB’s home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
