[WATCH]- Yashasvi Jaiswal Gets Consolation From Shubman Gill After Run-Out; Dressing Room Moment Viral
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a hundred

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were spotted sharing a cheerful moment in the dressing room following Jaiswal’s dismissal due to a disastrous mix-up on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. A video that surfaced on social media captured the two in a jovial mood, laughing and interacting comfortably despite the tense moment on the field.

The prolific batting duo had looked settled on Day 2 until the 92nd over of India’s innings. Jaiswal drove a ball firmly toward mid-off and called for a quick single. Although the 23-year-old had advanced well down the pitch, Gill did not commit to the run, allowing Tevin Imlach, following a near-perfect throw from Tagenarine Chanderpaul, to dislodge the bails at the keeper’s end.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 175, appeared visibly frustrated and exchanged a few words with Shubman Gill before making his way off the field. The dismissal ended their 74-run partnership, leaving the duo disappointed yet maintaining their camaraderie in the dressing room. You can watch the video here:

However, the incident did not affect Gill’s focus, as the Indian captain compiled his 10th century overall, and fifth in the capacity of captain. The 26-year-old remained unbeaten on 129 as the home side declared their innings at 518 for 5, presenting the West Indies with a formidable challenge.

Meanwhile, left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed two wickets on the morning of Day 3. He first dismissed Shai Hope for 36 and then removed Tevin Imlach for 21, sending both set batters back within the opening hour of play. These were Kuldeep’s third and fourth wickets of the match, having earlier dismissed Alick Athanaze for 41 on Day 2.

The West Indies resumed their innings on Day 3 at 140/4, still trailing India by 378 runs. On Day 2, Ravindra Jadeja had picked up three of the four wickets, accounting for John Campbell (10), Tagenarine Chanderpaul (34), and Roston Chase (0). At the time of reporting, the visitors were 164/6, still 154 runs short of avoiding the follow-on.
