With Gill being run out for 91, Jaiswal entered the field and demonstrated the same determination as he did at the beginning of the Indian innings, making a conventional restart to his innings.

By Lunch, Jaiswal was unbeaten on 149 runs off 189 balls. Post-break, he swiftly reached his 150-run milestone facing James Anderson.

Just as Anderson’s over had sparked Jaiswal’s aggression on Saturday, the trend continued on Day 4. The young opener hit three consecutive sixes off the veteran English pacer in the 85th over.

Maintaining a high scoring rate, Jaiswal raced to 180, surpassing a strike rate of 80, and effortlessly found boundaries. The 22-year-old achieved his second double century quickly, entering an exclusive list of batters to reach a unique feat for India.

This accomplishment establishes Jaiswal as the second Indian batter to achieve two consecutive double centuries in a Test series, a feat previously accomplished by Virat Kohli against Sri Lanka in 2017.

In the broader context, only Vinoo Mankad, during the 1955/56 series against New Zealand, has scored two double centuries in a series, though not in successive Tests.
