Pakistan’s cricketing arena is buzzing with excitement as Ubaid Shah, the younger sibling of the remarkable Naseem Shah, emerges as the latest fast-bowling sensation. Naseem Shah’s stellar performances for the national team have already left an indelible mark, and now, Ubaid is making waves by dismantling opposition batters’ stumps with his exceptional prowess.

In a riveting clash between Pakistan and New Zealand in the U-19 World Cup, Ubaid Shah showcased his talent by spectacularly dismissing three Kiwi batters, leaving the stumps uprooted. The trio of Tom Jones (14), Luke Watson (0), and Snehith Reddy (7) found themselves unable to cope with Ubaid’s blistering pace, contributing to New Zealand’s downfall as they were bowled out for a modest 140 runs in 38 overs.

Pakistan’s dominance in the match extended beyond Ubaid’s stellar performance, with Arafat Minhas claiming three wickets and Naveed Ahmed Khan chipping in with two. This collective effort restricted New Zealand from posting a formidable total.

The subsequent chase for Pakistan proved to be a walk in the park, with the openers efficiently accomplishing the task in just 25.2 overs. Shahzaib Khan’s explosive innings of 80 runs off 86 balls, adorned with 10 fours and 3 sixes, set the tone for the comfortable victory. His opening partner, Shamyl Hussain, contributed significantly with 55 runs off 66 deliveries, featuring 6 fours and 2 sixes, as Pakistan sealed the game with a resounding 10-wicket win.

The narrative surrounding Naseem Shah adds a layer of intrigue to Pakistan’s cricketing saga. Absent from the national team since the previous year’s Asia Cup, Naseem suffered a shoulder injury during a match against India, forcing him to miss the ICC World Cup 2023. The impact of his absence reverberated through the team’s performance, as the sub-continent side fell short of reaching the semi-finals.

Unfortunately, Naseem’s recovery lagged, leading to his absence from subsequent engagements, including the Test series against Australia and the T20I matches against New Zealand. His potential return remains an eagerly anticipated event for Pakistani cricket enthusiasts.
