Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal bowled an absolute ripper to dismiss Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya in the finals of the Indian Premier League 2022 season. The all-rounder had to walk back to the hut for thirty-four runs.

Hardik Pandya walked out to bat at number four after the dismissal of Matthew Wade in the fifth over. The Gujarat Titans were in a spot of bother, having lost two for 23 runs, chasing 131. Hardik got together with Shubman Gill to stabilize the innings and built a partnership. Together they put on 63 runs for the third-wicket partnership.

In the fourteenth over, Yuzvendra broke the stand to provide the Rajasthan Royals with a much-needed breakthrough. Chahal bowled a leg-break delivery, drifting on the middle and the leg stump. Hardik played the ball with no footwork and edged it straight to the slip fielder. Yashasvi Jaiswal did the rest to send the all-rounder back to the hut.

Interestingly, on the previous ball, Hardik was not happy with his batting partner Shubman Gill not running for a third run. Pandya paddled a ball for a couple of runs and wanted a third, however, Gill declined the run.

Gujarat Titans lift the IPL 2022 trophy

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya led the team from the front to win the Indian Premier League 2022 championship. He took three wickets conceding just 17 runs in his four overs in the first innings. The all-rounder also contributed valuable 39 runs with the bat. Opener Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 45 runs along with David Miller, scoring 32* to take Gujarat Titans home.

Earlier in the match, the Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the batting unit let down the team, failing to put up a big score. Jos Buttler was the top-scorer with 39 runs, as Rajasthan Royals managed to put on just 130 runs in twenty overs.
